Act One

Scared to let go

But plunging in with both feet

I look at you

I see time fly

The passage of seasons

Marked by laughter

Exposition giving way to plot

Walking through my 30s

I see road trips and tears

And yelling and holding you

Ever so premature

I imagine a couple

Quite a pair

Quite a scene

You could make me fly

Teach me how to be free

Show me life from outside

It could all be over

With a sound

It could all be nothing –

But I’m taking my chances

I’m over my head now

Looking for miracles

In the outline of a face

back to trip. etc.
